Why should/shouldn't open a page on Myspace?

I am just looking for a place to display some short stories I write, music I listen too, pictures I draw or find. Basically a simple expression of myself. Can it be done anonymously. If not is there a place that it can be done under an alias or anonymously without security concerns because one day an employer could just search my name and find me. That wouldn't be cool.

Why should/shouldn't open a page on Myspace?

The MySpace concept is the perfect medium for self-expression - to a point. You should take a look at their Terms %26amp; Conditions...

...before you plunge in - it my not be for YOU! Or you can create a blog on a different site that will serve your intention.

However, if you are concerned about personal security as we ALL should be, do not disclose or post any personally identifiable remarks, likenesses, addresses, etc. while you are online or in your posts. You would be surprised at what I have seen...SS# on someone's CV/resume, home addresses, vacation dates away from their home, school locations and times off classes, etc.

Well, actually, using MySpace or blogging elsewhere could work both ways for you regarding potential employers. Blog creation could be a selling point in marketing yourself in the communications, graphic arts and journalism career fields.

Be very careful what you write if you are going to use your personal name as your professional login name to your blog or MySpace. Some people have been fired for blog postings, etc. All kinds of content have been found on blogs and MySpace as well.

Yes, you can post and create your aritistry anonymously on My Space. I have a MySpace account that I use as I communicate with several of my friends and acquaintances around the world.

People can steal from ANY blog, not just MySpace, so If you are going to post graphics of any kind, get a software program that will create a watermark on the picture or graphic while allowing it to be viewed. Or enable HTML code to disable right-click to save your graphics to their PC's.

What I do is write my entire post on Word, upload it to my HTML coded document, then post online. No one can simply r-click or copy %26amp; paste, but they can type word for word the text that they see. If they want it THAT bad...

Don't use YOUR name. That's the only way no one will per-say find you.

Yes, it can be done anonymously on MySpace. Just pay attention to the information you give them when starting the account- it asks you which information you would like to share. You can change it whenever you like. It also now allows your profile to only be viewed by people on your "friends list", but you'd have to establish a list first. Which means opening yourself up to some people you don't know. Most people don't like when strangers ask to be their "friend" for no reason, and if they do, you'll never talk to them because they're just friend collectors.

MySpace is a great way to share your interests, if you're careful. I'm sure there are many other sites, which other people can direct you to as well. Good luck.

Don't put on the Internet anything that might upset your boss or your wife, even if you're using a nick, which is easy to trace back to you. Besides, MySpace has become the new AOL: eventually, having a page in there will be work against you credibility. Get yourself a blog at either WordPress or Blogger.com.

There are blog sites that are better. Try google blogs or even use zoomshare.com where you can make blog sites.
