I know how to make the layouts though CSS I just can't seem to get a cool designed background, like the ones with writting images and stuff. What software can I use?

I don't want my real picture on there anymore!! I want this cool avatar I found!!! I've tried everything I could think of, but I didn't think of much!!!

ok, the picture is to big.... you can reduce the size in a reg program or just paint. Go to paint open image, then select image tab, then stretch and skew, reduce the image size to some where between 25 %26amp; 50 % based on the size of the picture, then save as and try to upload it. Also, if you have taken up to much of your memory allowed on myspace with pictures it will not let you upload any pictures, you must first delete some, or one. What ever ! Hope that helps...

A few things... make sure your Avatar is under the file size limit required by mySpace...
Second, MySpace isn't the most reliable when it comes to stuff breaking... more than likely it is something within their system... give it a few days and try again...
Also make sure the avatar was saved as an accepted file for MySpace (I believe a list of extensions (.jpg, .bmp, etc.) are listed on the upload page...
ummm i dont know what to say try to do it again if not, check the size of the pic that you're uploading i dont think is to large but you can try that one if the problems continous close everything clear the temporaly folder, the cookies and all that restart the pc and then try again alright good luck
I believe if you right click then save as and then upload it should do the trick.
it won't work on myspace unless it is an actual picture file from your documents that myspace can locate. it will not pull up something as dynamic as an avatar, b/c it is neither a picture nor a video. Ive tried. myspace just sucks lol

when you click on a picture on one of these sites you will see a code by them
copy and paste this into your profile by going to edit profile
and you will see about me, etc.
choose where you want this picture and paste it into the box
if you dont want a link under it delete where it says font(the whole line) or where it says a website(the whole line)(note that these will not be in the beginning only at the bottom)
--BACKGROUNDS/LAYOUTS--
for a background or layout copy and paste the code into the "about me" section of your profile

find a website like www.freewebalyouts.net or www.hotfreelayouts.com and find a layout that you like. sopy the code and paste it in the about me section of you profile. and there you have it.
you go to hot-lyts.com and it will ahve myspace layouts and there willl be a code by it then copy the whole code and go to your home page and go to edit profile and paste it under who i like to meet and that is the same for everything
When logged in click on the Edit Profile link and you can begin editing your profile that way. To do the cool stuff you will either need to have an understanding of HTML and CSS code or just grab it from MySpace layout websites. The sites usually tell you where to put the code they create for you.
go to your myspace page them in the left top of your page click home this will take you to a sign in page enter your user name and password it will open to your edit page. sae this page to favorites that what I did for easy access. you can do everything you want to your page from here.
On your home page click on edit profile. Here is where you input about you etc. Then search on My Space for codes and graphics, then copy and paste the codes you want into a section where you input your details. Make sure you get the whole code in and if your replacing another check it is all deleted.
if you want photos on your page, other than in a slideshow, you have to first put them in an online photo place like photobucket, and then copy the html code and paste it in your profile- where you click edit profile and then you past it in one of the boxes. if you want to change your layout and background just type in layouts in the top search bar or go to a friends page and click on the link from what they used to create theirs. you can pick from hundreds of things. everything in myspace is pretty much copy paste in the edit profile.
you find a profile layout that you like and copy the code for it and most of the time you paste the code in your 'about me' section then you click save profile
The site I use to get me a layout is www.skem9.com.... you click on the layout link on the top bar then the first layout badge thingy (you'll know what I mean when you go there). Then you browse the layouts ad when you find one you like you hit preview and the code will be on the top right corner... copy and paste the whole code... then go back to your edit section on about me and paste your layout code below everything else. That's pretty much how you get anything on your profile... you copy and paste codes... you'll get the hang of it with a little practice! :)
Once you find a background you like, copy and paste the code to the section "about me" and that should set up your background. You can find myspace graphics (words %26amp; pics, ect) and place them anywhere on your profile. Just go to edit profile beside your picture and pick out where you want the graphic to go, (ex: about me, who I'd like to meet, ect) and copy and paste it there.
there are tonnes of sites that offer free layouts and cool things to personalise your page. Have a look at www.pyzam.com. They have layouts, graphics, and loads of other cool stuff. When you find something that you like, copy and paste the code into your 'about me' box. Save the changes and then your page should have changed.
I have a fridge magnet on my page which allows people to leave me messages..... they tend to be rude, but its all good fun!

MySpace in itself is not dangerous.
I have a space myself, and it's fun.
But...MySpace has weirdos with spaces, just like you can find weirdos ANYWHERE. In a park, in a chatroom, in a bar, or at church. You have to be selective with your friends.
MySpace is a lot of fun. Don't post location information about yourself...that's the key. Try it out---but be as careful as you would anyplace else in the world.

I am in the same situation. I guess its just entertainment to some, and many people either don't know or don't choose to believe it can be dangerous. One of my friends is very cautious (we've talked about this) and it is possible to be safe as long as you don't post too much info and don't talk to many strangers, ect.
I, myself have a myspace. Unlike some people I only give out my first name.. not my last name or even the town i live in which makes it practicly impossible for someone to track you down.. its so fun to comment people and get messages and its fun to meet people to.. ( of course they are people i have heard of before) If you dont feel like you feel you should have one then DONT get one i am NOT pressuring you into getting one or anything its just my opinion

I have a myspace and mine isn't bad. I don't have a picture of myself, I don't have the location of where I live, I don't have personal info, I don't say how old I am, and I don't have my name on it. It is only bad when you get stupid and put tuns of bad pics of your self, everythings to know about yourself, and if you get really stupid and say you will meet someone that you don't even know (and you actually go and see them face to face.) I think that a lot of those girls that are on dateline and stuff about mypace and those girls that get hurt by someone that they meet on myspace are STUPID!!!! they should know better. My parents even know that I have a myspace and they are fine with it as long as I don't act like those stupid girls that to be cool by promoting there whole like on there myspace page.
