Did anyone ever get immediately sick of MySpace after signing up?

I set up a page a couple of days ago. It's just a simple one - haven't even put any info on it yet!

Already had SOOO many weirdos requesting to be my 'friend' - aka guys wanting to chat smut - it's clogging up my mailbox!

Has anyone else got really sick of this and cancelled their membership? I like the idea of being able to invite and be invited to get talking to likeminded people eventually, it's just a shame the obvious rubbish can't get filtered out.

There's nothing wrong with people wanting to talk smut, obviously, if that's your thing, but I wish I didn't have to wade through all that to find the cool folks!

Anyone else?

I don't really have that problem, but I think it's because I'm married. I never get friend requests from guys I don't know. My husband, on the other hand, always gets requests from strange girls. Now that's annoying!!! I also made my page private. I would definitely suggest doing that. And I would also take Certified's advice and change your settings so that someone must know your email address or last name to send you a friend request. There are also a lot of problems with phishing on Myspace. Where spammers steal your password (I don't know how, but they do it ALL the time!!!) and post ridiculous bulletins and comments under your name. Very aggravating. I change my password once a week or so to prevent that. Seems to be working.

Buuuuttt.... once you get past all of that, it's pretty fun and addictive!!!

change your privacy settings. make it where they cant add you unless they know your e-mail address or last name

No but don't you want the friends

Replace your profile pic with one of a man. The weirdos will dry up.

Either that or just fill your page with so much Java and HTML it crashes all computers that try to look at it - as per 95% of the pages on there... Damn that Rupert Murdoch.

Well I joined up for myspace because all my friends seemed to have one and I wanted to check it out. The first day I signed up I was like "what the hell is this?" Myspace in my opinion and rated by pc world as the worst website ever is dangerous and it's got one of the worst website layouts I have ever seen. Until myspace cleans up it's security and pushes through a new layout it will continue to be an unsafe and ugly place.

Why don't you try out facebook. It's got a much cleaner layout and it doesn't seem like there are all these creaps messaging poeple.

Ding, ding, ding... Yep that would be me. Signed up and hated it. :) We can be myspace loosers together. :)

MySpace is horribly addictive.

No, but I get real sick of children asking dumb,

juvenile questions ABOUT MySpace on Yahoo Answers.

I signed up but didn't use my picture. I used a pic of a homeless man holding a sign that says need cash for alcohol research! I don't get many weirdos at all, only the odd few and i deny them access. It is very addictive and i have made some good m8s. Its not for everyone though.
